![]() ![]() Send to DeNoise AI as a Tiff, apply my noise corrections and then save. Saves me from having to use PS with selections and masking layers and such.įor those truly noisy images, I start in LR but make no adjustments. However for really noisy images, DeNoise AI works wonders. For most of my images I never leave light room. I've just recently purchased Topaz DeNoise AI. Noise reduction with deep prime is excellent Handles noise reduction and other post processing in one application. ![]() I process the RAW file in DXO Photolab 4 only I've stopped doing this as I don't want the crop "baked into" the resulting TIFF file at this stage of the editing process. Some suggest cropping before hand as it improves the performance of sw such as Topaz. The latter always produces strange artifacts and seems to have more trouble with leaving the dreaded and well known "blotchy" oof areas. I've gotten much better results doing it this way vs adding Clarity, texture or any sharpening in LR before sending it over to Topaz. When I have to send an image over to Topaz from LR for NR work, I always zero out everything other than the basic adjustments before hand. Denoise has definitely improved with the odd artifacts specs it would generate with older versions. After it's returned to LR, add any additional sharpening, texture, and clarity needed. Edit the image as normal including exposure, spot removals, dehaze, then edit in denoise. I just wondered what others did.įor me typically start with a raw image, leave texture, clarity at zero, sharpening at default or very low like 20, masking at zero, luminance at zero. I should experiment on when gives best results. It has a photoshop plug in, but not LR, so I can’t use it on original raw. If I have something really noisy or in need of detail enhancement, I use.Neat Image after LR. If you don't you can get weird artifacts. I personally would never use Topaz as my initial raw converter so I'll be interested to see how others respond. Topaz actually recommends opening supported raws directly in Denoise AI before sending a dng (I assume) to LR or C1 or whatever. For those who use a dedicated app such as Topaz or Neat Image, do you reduce noise in Lightroom (or other) first, then go to the external, or do you leave noise reduction alone in LR and then use your app to reduce noise in the otherwise processed image.
